Another Donkey Belly Update

And now, A Donkey Belly Update.

For those of you who have inquired, here is a current (last evening in fact) photo of one of the donkey mystery bellies. As you can see, things are unchanged--still giant, still horribly misshapen and still a mystery.

We have no new evidence, nothing to point in the direction of "Yes, there is a baby in there" or "No, it's just a bad case of gravity". The bellies are inexplicably giant. They move the lop-sidedness from one side to the other quite regularly. But they don't seem to be growing large (though they seem somewhat tighter) and there is no other evidence of impending partuition.

According to the last possible date these girls had a boy in the pasture with them last year, they *can't* possibly have a foal past October 30. That is the day by which I can finally stop wondering, watching and waiting and relax about this whole subject.

This, of course, means they will pop one (or five) out on Thanksgiving Day...which will inevitably also be a giant blizzard and I will end up tending wee baby donkeys in my living room.
