The Wee One

Mama Pig is a bit off this morning, might need to have the vet out for a flush.She is just a bit depressed and not caring for the babies like she did last time.

And the runt of the litter had a tough go last night (he breathed in some amniotic fluid and stopped breathing for a bit...oh the fun of pig CPR). He then had some trouble latching on but I made sure he got colustrum before I finally went to bed. 

But with Mama out of it this morning, he keeps ending up on the far side of her and hasn't been able to nurse or warm up. And so I have brought him in the house for a bit of TLC.

Doctor Evie thinks this is simply the BEST birthday ever...a real, live baby that needs cuddling nonstop.
